Flori Doyle provides acting classes and coaching for actors whether they be newcomers or experienced. She offers coaching in monologues for auditions, script analysis, acting technique and strategy. She also offers coaching to individuals from the professional and corporate worlds for giving speeches and conducting interviews and presentations. Her workshops and classes are tailored to being truthful within the imaginary circumstances of the text.

Her classes provide a relaxed, comfortable and enjoyable environment to study acting. Through a variety of activities, that include techniques of Stanislavsky, Uta Hagen and Sanford Meisner, actors improve self-confidence and acknowledge creativity.

Acting students are given the opportunity to cultivate stage presence and approach drama with a course of action.
Theme based workshops are also offered and given by request.

About Flori

Involved in drama since her stage debut, at the age of four, in “The Littlest Angel,” as the Littlest Angel, Flori’s foundation in theater was at Marymount School where she was a student for 14 years. She learned staging through being an altar girl, made speeches, and acted in all of the plays. During high school, she had private speech/acting with Sister des Victoria and learned about collaboration, team work and leadership through drama club. This experience confirmed her commitment to the theatre arts. She directed her first play, “A Christmas Carol,” and got excused from gym a couple of times a week so she could take modern dance. She choreographed musical numbers for the 9th graders. On Saturdays, Flori attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and worked at the Roundabout Theatre in the box office.  These experiences contributed to the strong literary and practical foundation she was given at Marymount. Flori was hooked.

Later at Ithaca College, where she earned a BFA in Acting and Directing, she would work at the Greater Ithaca Activities Center teaching dance and performance skills to children and led musical workshops of “The Me Nobody Knows.” Upon graduation, Flori pursued a career as an actor for about ten years, acting in original plays, at dinner theatre, acquiring print work and extra work in soaps. Flori earned her Actor’s Equity Association membership and is a member of SAG-AFTRA. Returning to school for a Masters in Theatre History and Criticism, she completed coursework in performance and theatre history at New York University. She then  became an assistant producer in radio and film and took several courses in film production at the School of Visual Arts. Flori received a MAT with a concentration in English from Manhattanville College.  Her goal: to implement drama in the English classroom and be a theatre teacher.
